Fabric inspection data security: your buyer limits, claims and photos stay yours

Fabric Inspection Software keeps every roll, defect photo and mill claim on servers in India, isolated per workspace, with role-based access and DPDP Act 2023 controls.

In short: Fabric Inspection Software stores every roll, defect photo, buyer standard and mill claim on servers in India, isolated per workspace, with TLS 1.2+ in transit, encryption at rest and nightly encrypted backups. It helps you meet India's DPDP Act 2023 for the staff data it holds, issues GST invoices, and lets you export your roll data as CSV at any time or have the workspace deleted on request.

Workspace isolation

Every roll, buyer standard and claim carries your workspace ID; one mill can never read another's data.

Role-based access

Inspector, QC head, merchandiser and owner roles with per-module permissions; inspector PINs are stored hashed (on-screen PIN switching is planned).

Offline data on the tablet

Queued entries sit in the tablet browser's storage until synced, not encrypted by the app, so keep Android screen lock and encryption on. A lost tablet's sync key can be disabled remotely.

Buyer confidentiality

Buyer limits and formats are visible only to roles you choose; read-only report links for buyers expire.

Audit trail

Who logged or undid each defect, added each photo and finished each roll, with the time (and the voice phrase, when voice was used), so a disputed claim has a record behind it.

Data ownership and export

Export rolls as CSV at any time and pull rolls, lots and buyers through the API; a full export with photos and claims is prepared on request. Deleted within 30 days of leaving.

How we build and run Fabric Inspection Software

  • Isolation. Every record carries your workspace ID and every query is scoped to it at the data layer, so one customer can never read another's data.
  • Encryption. TLS 1.2+ in transit; encrypted disks at rest; passwords hashed with Argon2id; API keys stored only as hashes.
  • Access control. Roles (owner, admin, staff, viewer) with per-module permissions, session hardening and login throttling with temporary lockout after repeated failed attempts. Two-factor authentication is on the roadmap.
  • Audit trail. Every create, edit and delete is logged with who, when, from where and what changed.
  • Backups. Nightly encrypted backups, kept on a 30-day rolling cycle.
  • Data ownership. Your data is exported for you on request (and much of it is available through the REST API). If you leave, you get a 30-day export window and then your data is deleted.
  • Read more. See our privacy policy, terms of service, the full Fabric Inspection Software feature list and pricing.
  • Responsible disclosure. Found a vulnerability? Email info@radiatus.com and we will respond within 2 business days.

Security questions

Who can see my buyer limits and mill claims?

Only users in your Fabric Inspection Software workspace with the right role. Role permissions decide who can edit buyer standards, send claims or manage users. All data is stored on servers in India (AWS Mumbai) and never shared between customers.

Are defect photos stored securely?

Yes. Fabric Inspection Software uploads each photo when the tablet is online (photos are not stored offline by the app) and keeps it on encrypted storage in India under your workspace ID. Photos are shown only to your users and through report or claim links you share, and are deleted with all your data within 30 days of leaving the service.

How does Fabric Inspection Software help with the DPDP Act 2023?

Fabric Inspection Software helps you meet India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 for staff data: it stores only the personal data needed (staff names, phone numbers, logins), keeps it in India, supports correction, export and deletion on request, and logs access. You remain the data fiduciary for your staff data; we act as your processor.

What happens if a tablet is lost on the floor?

An owner or QC head disables the device on the Devices screen in Fabric Inspection Software, so its sync key stops working, and resets the password of the user signed in on it. Entries still queued in that tablet's browser are not encrypted by the app, so keep Android screen lock and device encryption on; they are lost if never synced.

Inspect the first roll the same day

We load your defect master, buyer limits and report layout, then train your inspectors on the floor in Tirupur, Surat or Ludhiana, or over a video call. 14-day pilot, no card. Plans start at ₹4,999 a month with unlimited rolls, and every result follows the ASTM D5430 4-point rules and your buyer's own limit.
